My book is called An Abundance of Katherines. It is about this boy named Collin who is 17 and graduating from high school. He is a genius but this genius is addicted to Katherines. He will only date girls named Katherine. Her name cannot be Catherine, Cathy, Katrina her name Must be Katherine. His conflict is that he has just broken up with his 19th girlfriend named Katherine. He really liked this one and when they broke up he started to derail. In order to help him out his best friend Hassan decides to have them go on a road trip together and have a little bit of fun. While on the road trip they stop in a town called Gutsworth. They go there to see the Archduke Franz Ferdinands body and meet some interesting people.
My MIP for this book so far is "I got picked in alot. i'm not going to bore you with stories about how bad it was, but it was pretty bad. I was miserable. And so in 8th grade i went all alternative." (page 67) i like this quote because it shows us how bad it can get when you are being mean. It shows us that words really can hurt you and that you shouldn't change your life to make them stop.
My SOB for this book is "And then High school started, and i decided to make them like me. I just decided. It was so easy, dude."( page 67) I particularly enjoyed this piece because it shows us that even if you are an outcast doesn't mean that you can't have friends and that you can't be happy. It just goes to show us how we can continue being happy while being yourself.

Most Important Passage Analysis
The quote I chose to talk about is about how Ruth is feeling and how she needs help and only one person is here for her, "Ma was utterly confused about all but one thing: Jesus. The young Jewish girl who at one point could not allow herself to walk into a gentile church now couldn't do without it; her Orthodox Jewish ways had long since translated themselves into full-blown Christianity"(McBride 165). This quote shows how Ruth is going through a rough time but is still with Jesus and has faith and hope in him which kept her from going off the deep end. By going to church every Sunday she started to be revived.
